Gamers don’t need Microsoft’s new Xbox One S, but videophiles will love it

Xbox One S is Microsoft’s cheaper mid-cycle refresh of the Xbox One, representing both 4K media support and a better name for Xbox. On the hardware side, its miniaturization is meant to leapfrog the PlayStation 4, which still smaller and subtler than the original Xbox One.
