Hands on: BlackBerry DTEK60 review

Just when we thought the flagship smartphone onslaught was over for another year, BlackBerry has jumped in before 2016 wraps up with its own new top-end handset in the shape of the Blackberry DTEK60.

The bigger, more powerful and pricier sibling to the DTEK50, this new phone has the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, LG G5 and iPhone 7 Plus firmly in its sights.

A quick glance at the spec sheet and BlackBerry is off to a strong start, with the DTEK60 boasting a 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 21MP rear camera, 8MP front snapper and a 3,000mAh battery.

Best outdoor GPS watches : Top trackers for adventure seekers

Helping you tackle the toughest terrain on land or in the water

Those who love the great outdoors have been poorly served by the latest sports watches – until now. Advances in sensors, GPS and battery life means the latest crop of outdoor watches are built for those who spend days in the wild, not just a quick run around the local park.

We’re talking about outdoor watches built for trekking, climbing the highest mountains and going for a swim in the ocean. All are equipped with GPS, some can accurately measure altitude and then there’s the ones with whopping battery life.

BMW R1200GS Adventure vs. Ducati Multistrada Enduro vs. Honda Africa Twin vs. KTM 1190 Adventure R – COMPARISON TEST

We humans tend to obsess on how good something can be, how fast it can go, and what farkles it needs for higher performance even before we determine what vehicle we actually need or would use.

riding adventure motorcycles in the gravel

The two staples and the two new contenders

Adventure bikes are a prime example. Just like in the superbike class, where horsepower wars in the 1990s and aughts gave us super-high-performance bikes nearly unrideable at the limit by the common man, the modern ADV bike is a wonder of high performance that can be quite a beast when ridden at the limit.

Starmobile UP Sense Review

Image result for Starmobile UP Sense Review

Starmobile released last month its latest affordable entry-level Android smartphone that sports iPhone-like looks, 5-inch HD display, fingerprint scanner, and Android Marshmallow — the Starmobile UP Sense. Priced at below Php5K, it aims to offer fancy features and looks without breaking the bank. With plenty of affordable options in the market, are those enough to lure buyers? Let’s find out in our review.

Design and Construction

Right off the bat, we can definitely say that the phone took hints from the iPhone’s design, well at least in the front. The phone has a 2.5D glass on top of the 5-inch HD display. It’s bordered by a fair amount of bezel with the earpiece, front-facing camera, and a couple of sensors on top while a round home button sits below. The home button features a fingerprint scanner which works well so far.

Denon AVR-S920W review

So, you’re looking to buy a receiver, huh? We understand how overwhelming it can be to make a decision sometimes. You have a checklist of features you want and a strong desire not to overspend.

de_avrs920w_e3_bk_st_001_lo

At the competitive under-$600 level there’s a number of models vying for your attention including theSony STR-DN1070, the Yamaha RX‑V681 and the Onkyo TX-NR656. The Sony has been our favorite all year, but the Denon gives it a serious run. Unlike the Sony it’s compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, the latest surround sound formats that incorporate special “height” channels for added immersion. We certainly don’t consider Atmos a must-have at this point, especially since only a handful of titles are available, but some buyers place a high priority on future-readiness.

Both the Sony and Denon offer superb sound for the price, so the choice becomes one of priorities. If you want slightly better wireless streaming options the Sony is the way to go, but if you want Atmos capability now or in the future, the answer is the Denon. For the price it’s one of the best Atmos receivers we’ve tested so far.

Adata SSD Ultimate SU800 review

3D as a buzzword has taken a bit of a knock recently in the home entertainment sector, but it crops up in the marketing material of a product you might not expect – a solid state hard drive.

2tcscjly7a2xycprslrnvf

Adata is making a big deal of 3D NAND flash, which it claims allows it to cram in more storage capacity, higher efficiency and faster read and write speeds. It also claims that 3D NAND flash makes its drives more energy efficient, and therefore cheaper to run.

So does its 3D NAND flash make the Adata SSD Ultimate SU800 stand out from the crowd? Or is it just marketing bluster? Read on to find out.

2017 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE SRT REVIEW

The concept of a high-performance SUV should be a contradiction in terms. Yet through exhaustive engineering and sheer strength of will, the automotive industry has created an entire segment of vehicles which fit that description, and nearly all of them are just as at home on the road course as they are in suburbia.

2017-jeep-grand-cherokee-srt-0003-800x533-c

Jeep was among the first out of the gate with a performance-focused version of their mid-sized SUV in 2007. In the years since the segment has grown to include many of Europe’s most respected marques, but the SRT-flavored Grand Cherokee has always served as a bit of an outlier because although it’s one of the priciest vehicles in the FCA portfolio, it’s still tens of thousands of dollars less expensive than models like the BMW X6M and the supercharged Range Rover Sport.

Hands-on with Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8E and PC Nikkor 19mm

Nikon just released two new lenses – the AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8E FL ED VR and PC Nikkor 19mm F4E ED. We’re at the Photo Plus show in New York, where we got our hands on them.

Hands-on with Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8E and PC Nikkor 19mm

The AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm F2.8E FL ED VR is the third iteration of Nikon’s modern 70-200mm F2.8 telezoom. Improvements over its predecessor include a complete optical redesign and fluorine coatings on the front and rear elements.

While the new lens is only around 100g lighter than the VR II, and a mere couple of millimeters slimmer, it makes a difference. The new lens definitely feels like less of a ‘lump’ than the older version, thanks partly to a shift in the center of gravity, with more weight moved towards the mount.

SteelSeries Arctis 5 Review : Here’s a Gaming Headset You’ll Actually Want to Wear Out

Kết quả hình ảnh cho SteelSeries Arctis 5 Review : Here's a Gaming Headset You'll Actually Want to Wear Out

In terms of raw technology, gaming headsets have never been better. They sound great, and their microphones provide a distinct advantage for competitive players. For overall user experience, though, they leave a lot to be desired. The SteelSeries Arctis 5 ($100) provides a promising remedy for the problems facing its often garish and uncomfortable competitors, maintaining a sleek design that’s wearable for hours on end.

Better still, the Arctis 5 offers great sound that you can fine-tune to your liking and an impressive mic. Managing cables can be a bit of a pain, and the surround sound could be better, but the Arctis 5 is one of the best gaming headsets you can get for the price.

Google Pixel vs. Galaxy S7 vs. iPhone 7 : Camera Face-Off

The Samsung Galaxy S7, Apple iPhone 7 and now the Google Pixel have the best smartphone cameras in the world. They shoot sharper, more colorful photos than what you get from other phones. Even compared to pretty adept shooters like the LG V20, their photo prowess is simply a cut above the rest. But even though these cameras are all superb, each has its own strengths and weakness. So we put a Pixel XL, Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7 Plus head-to-head to determine which is strongest.

Photo: Samuel Rutherford / Tom's Guide

As it turns out, the Galaxy S7 is still the champ, but the Pixel and iPhone 7 both outperform Samsung’s shooter in some ways.

The Cameras

Before we take a look at the photos, let’s pause to take a look at what each camera is working with. The S7, iPhone and Pixel all sport 12.3-megapixel rear cameras, so as far as resolution goes, they are all starting from the same place.

Lenovo ThinkPad P50s Review

It’s hard to carry a bulky workstation on the road, but the ThinkPad P50s (starting at $839; $1,537 as tested) is Lenovo’s effort to combine portability and performance. It weighs just 5 pounds, which is light for a computer of this size and perfect for road warriors. But it eschews a powerful Intel Xeon CPU for a Core i7 (though you still get a discrete Nvidia Quadro M500M GPU with 2GB of VRAM for AutoCAD or Photoshop). Whether the P50s is for you depends on how much power you need versus how often you need to take the machine away from your desk.

ESCORT IX REVIEW

Escort continues to improve their product line with the latest Escort iX as an update to the outgoing Escort 9500iX. While other competitors like the Valentine One stick to the basics, the Escort brand hopes to differentiate itself with new features and a growing network or users providing crowd sourced alerts. We plugged in to see if this new iX still has what it takes to keep you alert on the road and out of traffic school.

SAMSUNG UN55KU7000 4K ULTRA HD TV REVIEW

First unveiled at a swanky Las Vegas event ahead of the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, Samsung’s SUHD TVs (no, the “S” doesn’t stand for “super”) are the company’s flagship models, designed to compete with the best TVs on the market. With support for High Dynamic Range and Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology, SUHD TVs take the company’s LED screens to new heights, offering an extremely bright picture and an expansive array of color.

If you don’t have a mint to spend on a new TV, however, there’s a good chance you’ve cast your glance at Samsung’s KU7000 series. The top-model flat screen in Samsung’s lineup without the SUHD moniker — or the premium price that accompanies it — Samsung’s KU7000 series offers a sleek and slim design, a truckload of features, and easy access to all the 4K content you can handle. While it may not be the videophile’s first choice, this TV brings plenty to the table, making it a top option in the expanding 4K TV marketplace.

Google Pixel XL VS LG V20 blind camera battle: Test the Best

Over the weekend we ran a blind photo battle with Facebook between two smartphone cameras: the Google Pixel XL and the LG V20. These battles took place in two ways, one of which showed close shots and asked the viewer to vote on which was “better.” Pulled back full-frame photos were also shown with viewers voting in a similar manner, this time with photos separated in a gallery, voted on with “Likes.”

The Google Pixel XL and the LG V20 took three separate photos in low and medium-light conditions. Lighting was a mix of natural sunlight and incandescent (yellow) indoor light. We’ve made an effort to keep the photo conditions the same – same angle, same area of touch focus, etcetera.

Vivo Y55 Review

Image result for Vivo Y55 Review

Vivo launched a new smartphone in the Philippines a couple of weeks ago in the form of the Vivo Y55. It’s an entry-level device with a 5.2-inch display, Snapdragon 430 CPU, 2GB RAM, LTE, and a sub-Php8K price tag. It also categorizes itself as a selfie-centric phone with its Smart Screen flash, but how does it stack up with other selfie devices in market? Let’s find out.

Design and Construction

If the Y55 reminds you of another smartphone brand, you’re right, as this heavily reminds us of the OPPO F1s with a few differences. It’s quite understandable though considering that Vivo and OPPO are under a same parent company – BBK Electronics Corporation. It has a white face, rounded sides and corners, and a rear that reminds us of the iPhone.

Up front we have the 5.2-inch display, above it are the earpiece, 5MP front camera, and sensors. Down below are three unlit capacitive navigation buttons for Options, Home, and Back.

Fossil Q Marshal review : The classiest Android Wear show in town

Big on style and unashamedly hefty, the Q Marshal is one of – if not the – best looking Android Wear watch out there right now. But it’s light on substance, and further let down by a lacking display, including the flat tyre. We admire what Fossil is doing to blaze a trail for design, but sometimes on the Marshal the tech sometimes feels like more of an afterthought.

Fossil Q Marshal, Wander join fashion brand’s Android Wear line

Fossil has a bold mission for 2016: to launch 100 wearables from eight of its fashion brands before the year is out. And no matter how many of the 100 promised devices turn out to be worthwhile, you have to admire what the company is doing. Making such a big push won’t just be good for Fossil, but raise the bar for everyone else.

The Q Marshal is one of the many devices, and the twin sibling of the Q Wander, both of which are serious on style and less concerned with other features. These are smartwatches that want to be mistaken for classic timepieces, and indeed the Marshal certainly carries the look and feel of a proper watch. At $295, it’s also as expensive as some more feature-fitted options out there.

Lenovo Yoga 910 Review

If you’re looking for the perfect blend of power, style and adaptability, you’ll find it hard not to love the Yoga 910. Lenovo’s latest 2-in-1 (starting at $1,200) still wows with its elegant watchband hinge, but it now offers a nearly-bezel-free 13.9-inch display that gives you more to look at without taking up extra space. Even its battery life has seen a pretty big increase and will now last 10.5 hours on a charge.

2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid First Drive – Eco-credibility for brand’s best-selling SUV

Sometimes auto sales are like a street fight, with each opponent shadowboxing the other’s every move in a bid to stay competitive. So it is with the 2017 Nissan Rogue Hybrid compact SUV, a left hook aimed at connecting with Toyota‘s RAV4 Hybrid introduced the year before.

To say that the Rogue is an important model for Nissan is to undersell the role it plays in keeping the coffers full. The small hauler is in fact the best-selling vehicle, full stop, in the automaker’s North American portfolio, and as such it serves as the primary ambassador to families who might consider adding another Nissan to the driveway as a complement to the SUV.

2017-nissan-rogue-hybrid-review-photo-slashgear00002

One doesn’t make changes to a hometown hero that regularly challenges for the number one spot its segment lightly, but the decision to bring a battery-assisted drivetrain to the Rogue stable was not a difficult one for Nissan. Given the relentless, almost zombie-like push amongst new car buyers of all ages to load up on sport-utility vehicles and shun traditional four-door sedans, the brand knew that there was a built-in audience for a more efficient – and potentially, more refined – version of the Rogue.

Philips 55PUS7181 review

It’s not unusual for pre-recorded backing tracks to be used to augment live performances; to make them sound as close to the original recording as possible, and create a more complete experience for the audience.

That’s the basic objective behind Philips’ Ambilight (‘ambient light’) technology; a row of LED lights on the back panel that mimics the colours on the screen in real-time, emanating a soft glow of light around the TV.

Ambilight aims to make TV-watching a more immersive and inclusive experience; to act as an extension of the TV screen.

Road Testing The 2017 Brough Superior SS100

Want to get bikers up in arms? Revive a hallowed brand. Established manufacturers get a pass when producing ugly or ill-considered motorcycles, and nobody questions their right to exist, but a new manufacturer using an old name fights steep resistance, no matter how committed it is to the old name. Brough Superior owner Mark Upham is doing his best to honor the spirit of the late George Brough, which is probably impossible in the 21st Century, because Brough invented a genre—the luxury motorcycle—that was bombed out of existence in World War II.

2017 Brough Superior SS100 static 3/4 view

2017 Brough Superior SS100.

First-generation Brough Superiors were built between 1919 and 1940, and immediately earned a reputation for quality, innovation, handling, speed, and beauty. They were the most expensive and fastest motorcycles in the world, and their lustrous finish earned them the nickname “The Rolls-Royce of Motorcycles.” Rolls didn’t object. Above all, George Brough was a PR genius, crafting an image via selected competitions (ones he was likely to win), flamboyant personal style, a gift for turning a phrase, and the regular patronage of celebrities like T.E. Lawrence, otherwise known as Lawrence of Arabia. It isn’t likely for a motorcycle to be all those things today, as “fastest” seems irrelevant, most expensive is a matter of adding zeros, and today’s heroes are tomorrow’s targets for scandal. Just imagine a T.E. Lawrence cell phone hack, with his leather bed sheets and masochistic inclinations…

HP Omen 17 Review

Gaming laptops have little reason to envy their desktop counterparts anymore, and the HP Omen 17 ($1,299 starting, $1,799 as reviewed) shows why. This beastly notebook’s Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card and Intel Core i7 processor allow it to handle gorgeous-looking PC games and virtual reality with equal aplomb, and it looks great to boot. If you can live with some heat and fan noise, the Omen 17 is one of the best values for enjoying compromise-free gaming on the go.

Design

The new HP Omen has a big and bold design that ditches the slim look of its predecessors in favor of more powerful guts. Still, the same signature Omen aesthetic is there: You’ve got a red-backlit keyboard, a slick-looking charcoal paint job and a smooth lid that sports HP’s trademark, butterfly-esque Omen logo. The laptop’s plastic build might turn off those hoping for metal, but the notebook still feels sturdy and substantial.

StarTech USB-C Docking Station Review

Kết quả hình ảnh cho StarTech USB-C Docking Station Review

Laptop users with USB Type-C ports and high-res monitors need an easy way to connect the two. The $186 StarTech USB-C docking station can attach your computer to up two monitors, one of which can run at 4K resolution, using USB Type-C’s Alt mode. A mixed bag, Alt mode doesn’t require you to install special software, but it will often suffer from compatibility issues that you don’t encounter with units based on DisplayLink technology (the form used in all other USB docks).

Like other alt-mode docks it fails to work with several brands of laptop — including HP and Apple systems. It also has difficulty downscaling when you attach two monitors that have higher native resolutions than it can handle. Overall, the StarTech USB-C Docking Station is fine if your laptops and monitors can work with it, but competitors are cheaper or more flexible.

Luxury sedan comparison part two : Audi A6 v BMW 5 Series v Jaguar XF v Mercedes-Benz E-Class

Part onehttps://goo.gl/wTmglO

It’s time for the final showdown, where the winner of last month’s luxury sedan test goes wheel-to-wheel in a winner-takes all fight against three of the established, premium (and German) stalwarts.

That means our Jaguar XF has returned to battle for the British against the Teutonic might of the establishment: the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The latter three are the dominant forces in the luxury sedan segment in terms of sales, but the XF is nipping at the heels of the trio of Germans.

So, does the Jaguar deserve more sales than the Audi, BMW and Merc? Or should those in the market for an executive saloon be focusing on the likes of the new-generation E-Class, the strongly equipped 5 Series and technically impressiveA6?
