The KDE Slimbook III is available now with a Ryzen 4800H in a thin body

The partnership between Slimbook, the Spanish laptop brand, and the opensource KDE project continues with the new KDE Slimbook III. Slimbook has chosen an OEM design that manages to fit H-series Ryzen 4000 processors into a thin and light 14-inch chassis.

The KDE Slimbook III is based on the Slimbook ProX body but swaps the ultrabook-class Intel i7-10510U (4C/8T) and Nvidia MX250 for a laptop-class AMD Ryzen 4800H (8C/16T) with integrated Vega 7 graphics. Between the two models, Ryzen 4800H has roughly three times higher CPU performance, and around 10-20% slower GPU performance — each category is dependent on the benchmark used.

Both the 14-inch and 15.6-inch Ryzen versions allow for a maximum of 64 GB RAM compared to 32 GB on the Intel models, meaning this CPU and RAM combo is particularly attractive for power users. Storage is configurable with up to a 2 TB NVMe SSD.
