The laptop world has really woken up to the fact that mobile ARM-based processors are really powerful. Who would have thought that all it would take is Apple to want to break off of Intel and AMD and go to the next best thing: ARM. The company which has patents for a variety of SoCs, Core architectures, and more, licenses these technologies to third-party manufacturers, who go on and create their own CPUs and SoCs, like MediaTek, Qualcomm, and Exynos.
