Intel must be feeling the heat from Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered laptops, because the company is now developing its first hybrid processor or system-on-a-chip (SOC).

Meet Lakefield, an Intel processor unlike anything you’ve seen before, as it comes packed with more than one type of CPU core to create a better-rounded chip. Additionally, these hybrid chips can even come with their own integrated memory, I/O interface, wireless connectivity and, of course, onboard graphics.
