Comet Lake and Whiskey Lake are on the comparison “table” again. We have selected two suitable candidates – Core i5-10210U vs i5-8265U. Let’s continue and we’ll see which one is the better mid-range CPU.

Quick Specs

Both CPUs share a lot of similar specs – the same core count (4 core, 8 threads), the same cache size (6MB), the same TDP levels (15W / 25W / 10W), the same max memory size (64GB), and the same base frequency (1.60 GHz). Even the bulk price is the same for both of them – $297.00 USD. The only differences are the Boost clock – 4.20 GHz for the Core i5-10210U and 3.90 GHz for i5-8265U, and the memory support (DDR4-2666, LPDDR3-2133 to DDR4-2400, LPDDR3-2133).
