The laptop CPU space is becoming quite competitive. While Intel had the reigns on the market, AMD has quickly swooped in and taken a decent chunk of Intel’s share, as it honestly offers better and less expensive hardware. In the past, Intel was judge, jury, and executioner, and had the ability to markup prices as high as they wanted, as there was a lack of competition.

This changed with the Zen architecture, which revamped the whole AMD CPU sheet, bringing affordability and performance, lighting a fire under Intel.
