Intel the former champ is on the losing side now, and AMD, the underdog for many years is now the titleholder. Both of these organizations have an almost religious following when it comes to their respective stock.
Intel has more expensive merchandise, and they used to have the best-performing CPUs. These days, the best performance comes with AMD and that comes with consumer-friendly prices too. AMD also has bigger jumps in their performance every generation while Intel makes only small steps.
