Alienware’s flagship enthusiast gaming desktop just got a facelift and major internal surgery. Boasting a refreshed physical design and Intel’s brand new 12th Generation “Alder Lake” processors, the Aurora R13 (starts at $1,479.99; $4,679.99 as tested) is improved all around. This is one of the first looks we’re getting at Alder Lake, and we are happy to report the Core i9-12900K in our review unit is right up there with (and in cases even faster than) AMD’s Ryzen 9 equivalent, a change in the CPU pattern from the last couple years.
