Third-generation Bavarian hatch will aim directly at the Mercedes-Benz A-Class from October

BMW Australia has released pricing and specification details for the new BMW 1 Series hatchback, which is due in showrooms from October.

Boasting a new front-drive architecture, the third-generation 1 Series will be priced from $42,990 plus on-road costs in Australia for the BMW 118i, extending to $63,990 plus ORCsfor the more powerful, all-wheel drive M135i xDrive hot hatch variant.
