Restomod version of classic Pony emerges with high-tech EV underpinnings from IONIQ 5

Hyundai has delivered a retro-modern take on the iconic Hyundai Pony, inserting some of its latest technology into its first-ever mass-production model that first hit the road in 1975.

That includes an EV powertrain, believed to have been transplanted straight from the South Korean car-maker’s upcoming IONIQ 5, as well as various other “future-oriented elements” that bring Hyundai’s classic small car into the 21st century.
