German car-maker ramps up pure-electric ambitions and announces three new pure-electric architectures

Mercedes-Benz has declared that “where market conditions” allow it will be a completely pure-electric brand by 2030, almost a decade earlier than originally planned.

As part of the plans, parent Daimler confirmed it would invest €40 billion ($A65bn) by 2030 to help it take on its EV rivals, including Tesla.
