Despite its financial troubles, SsangYong is working on a new electric ute – here’s what it could look like.

South Korean carmaker SsangYong is pushing through financial woes with development of a new all-electric dual-cab ute – one that could become the first fully-electric ute on sale in Australia.

Little is known about the new SsangYong electric dual-cab beyond confirmation of its existence, however the car maker has announced it will be a tray-backed derivative of its upcoming medium to large electric SUV, codenamed J100, set to launch in 2022 – pending no further delays stemming from SsangYong’s uncertain finances.
