2022 Lucid Air unseats Tesla Model S as world’s longest-range electric car

The upcoming zero-emission sedan has an EPA-verified range of 837km – almost 25 per cent greater than the second-place Model S.

The US-built Lucid Air sedan – which is set to go on sale later this year – has received a verified range according to US EPA testing procedures of 837km, suggesting it can travel further between charges than any other production electric vehicle.

For reference, the current industry benchmark, the Tesla Model S Long Range has an EPA-accredited range of 651km – approximately 25 per cent less than the new model, despite its battery only being 11 per cent smaller.
