2022 Ferrari 296 GTB arrives in Australia, priced from $551,800

The newest Ferrari has made its Aussie debut with V6 power returning for the first time in almost 50 years – and this one’s a hybrid.

The 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB has made its Australian debut, with a fleeting stopover in Melbourne. This is the first V6-powered Ferrari since the Dino 246 GT went out of production in 1974 – but unlike its forebear, this model is a plug-in hybrid.

Powering the 296 GTB is a new 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine producing 487kW, thanks to its ‘hot vee’ turbocharger positioning and state-of-the-art combustion chamber technology.
