2020 BMW 1 Series revealed, coming to Oz Q4

The third-generation hatch is lighter and more spacious to its predecessor thanks, in part, to its front-wheel drive platform.

The third-generation BMW 1 Series hatch has been unveiled, and for the first time BMW’s smallest hatch is based on a front-wheel drive platform with only a five-door body on offer.

Visually, the new 1 Series is quite a departure from earlier models with a wedge-shaped body and slim side windows.

The car features a short, steeply raked bonnet behind angular headlight units, and merged oversized kidney grilles inspired by the X5 and X7.
