Ultimate Audi SUV arrives in January, but will it be worth the wait?
Not very long ago a coupe was something with only two doors, but then manufacturers discovered if they built a four-door crossover SUV with a rakish rear-end, it could be loosely defined as a coupe. A niche was born and models like the BMW X2, X4 and X6, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC and GLE Coupe followed. Now the Audi Q8 joins them as the Volkswagen premium brand’s first coupe crossover, and its flagship SUV – until the Audi e-tron arrives – but is there more to this SUV than marketing hype?

If the coupe crossover is about looking different, then it’s worth examining the Audi Q8’s visuals. Sure, it’s big — wide, especially — but it carries off the fastback-on-a-tall-body look surprisingly well.
