Below are crops from our laboratory Still Life target comparing the Panasonic S1R’s JPEG image quality to its a series of competing cameras with similar high-resolution sensors. Unlike most Image Quality Comparisons, there is no predecessor to the all-new S1R. For this comparison set, we’re showing the S1R up against the 50MP Canon 5DS R, the 50MP (medium-format) Fujifilm GFX 50S, the 45MP Nikon Z7 as well as the earlier 42MP Sony A7R III and current 61MP Sony A7R IV.
