Canon patent for EF 24-105mm f/4 zoom lens

Canon has patented a new zoom lens in Japan. The new optic describes the EF 24-105mm f/4 standard zoom model designed for Canon DSLRs with full-frame image sensors.

This is a standard zoom lens with a 24-105mm focal range and f/4 maximum aperture for Canon EOS SLR cameras. Canon has the EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM with Image Stabilizer technology steadies camera shake at up to 3 stops. It also has ring-type USM system delivers silent but quick autofocus. 

The EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM wide-angle to portrait-length telephoto lens from Canon is currently priced for $999 at camera stores.
