Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BT review

Audiophiles typically shun wireless headphones because of poor sound quality. However, Bluetooth audio has improved tremendously over the years. There are now plenty of wireless headphones that can please the music enthusiast, with Hi-Res Audio support being more and more prevalent.

For the unfamiliar, the Hi-Res Audio label you see on the box means a headphone must meet certain criteria to be able to play higher than CD-quality music. This means a headphone must be able to decode and playback music that’s 24 bit/96 kHz and above. (That’s actually a cut above CDs, which are recorded at 16 bit/44.1 kHz.)

On paper, Audio-Technica ATH-SR5BT is an impressive wireless headphone with a frequency response of 5-40,000 Hz, meaning that pretty much no note goes unheard. It also lasts a stunning 38 hours on a charge so you can go days, if not weeks, without charging them.
