Godzilla is dead: Nissan GT-R axed in Australia from late 2021

New safety regulations have brought the end the Nissan GT-R in Australia, with the 14-year-old supercar to reach the end of the road Down Under this November.

The giant-slaying Nissan GT-R supercar will reach the end of the road in Australia this November, drawing the curtains on 31 years of history Down Under – including a 12-year run with the current model unveiled globally 14 years ago.

The current-generation GT-R falls foul of new side-impact crash test regulations (known as ADR 85) due to come into force in Australia on 1 November 2021 for vehicles introduced prior to November 2017.
