The aging Encore subcompact SUV is reduced to one variant, the Preferred trim, for 2022. On a positive note, this year’s model does enjoy a much needed power boost to 155 horsepower, up from the 138 hp of the 2021 version.
The Encore faces stern competition from the likes of the Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V, not to mention its own new sibling with a nearly identical name, the Encore GX.
