PS4 Pro Review : still a great 4K console even four years later

The PS4 Pro is, until November, the most powerful PlayStation console you can buy right now. This mid-cycle upgrade to the PS4, and direct competitor to the Xbox One X, offers 4K gaming and streaming, provided you have a 4K TV or display you can output to.

It doesn’t have as much power to use as the Xbox One X, but it has the benefit of Sony’s enticing library of exclusive games, and many of them look even better than normal thanks to Sony’s “PS4 Pro Enhanced” scheme.

With the PS5 on the horizon, you may be thinking of saving up for that one instead. But due to the expense of the newer hardware, or the limited number of new games to pull you into the new generation, the PS4 offers a much better value proposition, with the PS4 Pro letting you spend a little more for some extra power.
