2020 Toyota Mirai Review

The 2020 Toyota Mirai is an electric sedan powered by an onboard fuel cell in which hydrogen and oxygen react to make the electricity that powers the car. The only emission is water. Unfortunately, hydrogen fueling stations aren’t found around every corner, and the Mirai is sold only in California and Hawaii. Only about 6,000 Mirais have been sold since 2015.

If you live in one of these two states, you can buy or lease this 4-seat Toyota sedan, which is a fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV) with a range of 312 miles.

Unsurprisingly for a premium-class vehicle with an MSRP of nearly $60,00, the Mirai comes very well equipped with luxury, safety and tech features. Adaptive cruise control is standard, as are automatic emergency braking and heated seats. As a fuel-cell electric vehicle, the Mirai is eligible for a $4,500 rebate in California.
