Next Ford Mustang set for all-wheel drive V8 hybrid

Seventh-generation pony car will usher in era of electrification with high-output V8 hybrid powertrain

Ford’s next-generation Mustang will get the option of a state-of-the-art all-wheel drive V8 hybrid powertrain when it lands in 2022.

According to Autocar, the seventh-generation Ford Mustang is currently being developed under the S650 codename and is set to be a huge technological leap forward compared to the muscle car it replaces, but the new V8 hybrid won’t be the first electrified Mustang.
