Kioxia RM5 Review Where Value SAS Makes Sense

When we last covered the Kioxia RM5, Kioxia was still called Toshiba Memory. The line is designed to be at SATA pricing on configurators of major OEMs such as HPE, Dell EMC, and Lenovo yet offer a SAS3 interface. Kioxia’s belief is that there is a market that still wants SAS3 RAID controllers for in-server storage. Given that server architecture, the Kioxia RM5 is designed to beat SATA SSD features and performance at the same price.
