Pickup trucks make serious cash for their makers, who then pour a lot of that money back into development of future products in search of new technology and fresh grenades to lob at their competition. In 2015, Ford launched its thirteenth-generation F-150 with an aluminum bed and body panels. This summer, GMC will introduce its CarbonPro carbon-fiber bed in the 2019 Sierra.
