“I keep saying we’re in a TV golden age,” our resident TV expert Lee said to me the other day, “but people don’t wanna hear it.” And, although there’s plenty to complain about the current state of TV hardware, I’m inclined to agree with Lee.
Just four years ago, the thought of landing a 50-inch 4K TV for less than $400 seemed positively absurd for most people. At the time, those of us keeping a watchful eye on industry trends were hopeful that costs would come down sooner or later, but few were prepared for the landscape to flatten out quite as quickly as it did.
