Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk lobs at $135k

Jeep is rolling out Australia’s third most powerful new vehicle – behind the Ferrari 812 Superfast and Lamborghini Aventador S – priced at $134,900 before on-roads.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk gets the 6.2-litre supercharged Hemi V8 engine from the Challenger and Charger Hellcat, with a terrifying 522kW and 868Nm.

This puts it behind only the Ferrari 812 Superfast and Lamborghini Aventador S, and equal to the (1017Nm) Bentley Continental Supersports. That said, the Tesla Model X electric SUV has more torque.

The Trackhawk is thus $44,000 pricer than the former range-topper, the SRT, which will remain on sale concurrently, still powered by a 6.4-litre Hemi making a meagre 344kW/624Nm.

About 200 Australians have already put their money down.
