Ford has confirmed that the Ranger Raptor performance ute will join the line-up, arriving in Asia-Pacific markets next year.

The Ford Ranger Raptor will join the larger F-150 Raptor in the Blue Oval’s global off-road performance line-up, though is yet to disclose what will power the new hardcore ute.

“We are very excited to bring Asia Pacific’s toughest and smartest pickup truck to a whole new level,” said Trevor Worthington, vice president of product development for Ford Asia Pacific.

“Ford Ranger Raptor will offer Ranger fans a fantastic opportunity to own an authentic off-road performance version of their favorite truck for the first time.”

And, just a month ago, spy photographers in the US snapped a Ranger Raptor prototype undergoing testing, revealing the performance model’s multi-link coil-sprung rear suspension setup with a Watt’s linkage, rear disc brakes, and chunky BF Goodrich 285/70 R17 All-Terrain TA tyres – the latter potentially raising the Ranger’s ground clearance from 225mm to 254mm.
