Canon Rebel T6i Digital Camera Review

If you’re in the market for a beginner-friendly DSLR, you’ve undoubtably heard of Canon’s Rebel line. The series has been a staple in the entry-level DSLR game since it debuted back in 2003 with the EOS 300D (aka the EOS Digital Rebel)–the very first DSLR offered for under $1,000. But while the 300D broke new ground, the Canon Rebel T2i (launched early 2010) was the camera that really catapulted the Rebel line into the limelight.

Thanks to its ease of use, flexibility, and excellent performance, the T2i was so successful that Canon more or less coasted, changing very little from the T2i right on through to last year’s Canon Rebel T5i. With the new Canon Rebel T6i (MSRP $749.99 body-only) that’s all changing; Canon is finally giving the Rebel line an actual, honest-to-goodness update.

The future of 2016 Mitsubishi 3000GT is Cool

The 2016 Mitsubishi 3000GT fits in with the group of lively models. It was established under the name Mitsubishi GTO which entered the business with Dodge Stealth. Their configuration is the aftereffect of joint work in the middle of Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors.

In most fare markets it was relaunched under another name as a Mitsubishi 3000GT. It is clear that this is a future vehicle and tragically enough as of right now we know next to no about him.

Review: The Pentax 645Z is a Wedding Photographer’s Medium Format Dream

I’m an experienced wedding photographer who has wanted digital medium format for a long time. I use a pair of 1D Xs with the typical lenses that you would expect a wedding shooter to use. I never was intending on replacing my Canon gear, but rather supplementing it. My idea was use the medium format for location shooting, and use my Canon’s for everything else.

However I only really started thinking seriously about medium format in late 2014 when two things happened:

2018 Bugatti Chiron Review – Price and Specification

The launch of Bugatti Veyron with W16, 8.0L engine in 2005 was very impressive for the car lovers and thus became the fastest car with top speed of 253.81 mph. But to carry this success they have found new wings as the successor of Veyron that is 2018 Bugatti Chiron

Introduction

For a car capable of unprecedented speeds, the Bugatti Veyron sure has stuck around a long time – but it’s almost gone. And that means it’s time for the Alsatian marque to move on to the next thing. Fortunately, according to Automobile magazine, Bugatti has been working on the Veyron’s successor ( Chiron) for about four years now.

Canon Will Reportedly Focus More on the Mirrorless EOS M System in 2016

Canon announced the EOS M to compete in the mirrorless camera market back in 2012, but the camera line has failed to make much of a splash in the industry while competitors are eating up market share. That may change next year: Canon will reportedly focus more of its attention and resources on the EOS M line in 2016.

That’s what Canon Rumors says it’s hearing from sources that have been right in the past. Canon is said to be “actively developing” EOS M (camera) and EF-M (lens) products, and plans to “get serious about the platform” starting next year.

Samsung’s Mysterious Gear S2 Smartwatch Looks Downright Wearable

Samsung showed us two jumbo phones today that were, you know, more or less what we were expecting—and frankly not all that interesting. At the end of the show, though, Samsung teased the Gear S2 smartwatch, set to be announced on September 3rd at IFA in Berlin. Now that’s what I’m talking about!

We know virtually nothing about the watch, but the tease is certainly enticing. (1:14:00 in the livestream video.) The graphics and design look contemporary and attractive—like something you’d actually want to wear. The watch has a distinctive round design, but it is obviously taking some UI cues from Apple, too. In particular, the circular icons on the app launcher interface look like they were lifted straight from the Apple Watch.

12 Fastest Pickup Trucks on the Road Today

1. FORD F-150

0-60 MPH time: 5.6 seconds

When Ford took the big risk of redesigning the most popular pickup truck of all time, the F-150, with an aluminum truck body and bed, not many consumers were extremely excited about the truck. Ford took its time to ensure they got the truck right, and the F-150 is one of the fastest pickup trucks on the road today.

Becoming a rain detective with a backyard weather station

London summers can be the most arduous of times. Since early July, we’ve had highs of 98 and lows of 48. We’ve had sun, rain and everything in between. Planning where to go or what to wear more than a few days in advance is an impossibility. I do my best, of course, combining AccuWeather’s useful-but-often-inaccurate extended forecasts with the Dark Sky app for up-to-the-minute weather alerts. Over the past week or so, however, I’ve added a new tool to my arsenal: the BloomSky. It’s an all-in-one outdoor weather station that, for currently $169 and up, provides you with hyper-local weather information. Although it hasn’t changed my life, becoming a meteorologist has been quite a lot of fun.

With this rugged speaker, sound takes a backseat to accessories

It takes a lot to get me excited about a Bluetooth speaker these days. Although subpar sound quality plagued early devices, newer models offer both good looks and solid audio. Even so, most of the current offerings are same-y; unremarkable. Now, a company called Braven has found a way to evolve the Bluetooth speaker even further, with a large selection of rugged wireless speakers.

The BRV-PRO was unveiled earlier this year at CES, and while it certainly looks the part of a weatherproof speaker, it’s the optional accessories that make it most compelling — everything from a solar charging panel to a mount for your action camera. As you can imagine, though, those extras add up quickly. I spent some time with the $150 speaker and the various extras to find out if Braven’s latest is worth it.

StoreDot startup is working on EV battery that can charge in five minutes

One of the things that could revolutionize the EV world is batteries that store more power allowing cars to drive for longer distances. Another big battery improvement that could make EVs much more mainstream is the ability to charge the batteries inside the EV much faster. Right now, it can take up to 24 hours to completely charge a normal EV battery.

An Israeli startup company called StoreDot is currently working on a new EV battery that the company claims could be completely recharged in only five minutes. If that sounds farfetched, consider that the company has already created a smartphone battery that recharge in a minute. That smartphone battery is known as the FlashBattery.

Chrome Canary users can now spellcheck multiple languages at once

If you’re bilingual and use Chrome, we’ve some good news: you can now enable Chrome Canary to spellcheck multiple languages at once, cutting down on the editing time and eliminating the need to use third-party tools to expedite the revision process.

You’ll need to manually enable the feature and select which languages you want to be monitored, but after that it’ll happen automatically, no additional tweaking necessary. News of the feature first surfaced earlier this summer, but it is now available for all Chrome Canary users to enjoy.

Bugatti counts out SUV and sedan amid Chiron focus

Don’t expect Bugatti to follow luxe rivals into making an SUV or a sedan, with the company cutting off speculation that it might echo stablemate Bentley’s range-expansion. Despite showing off eye-catching concepts like the Bugatti 16C Galibier 5-door fastback in 2009, not to mention the growing trend among luxury car makers to cater to high-rolling and deep-pocketed customers with a taste for SUVs, according to company chief Wolfgang Dürheimer the focus remains on having just two doors.

VHS Camcorder app review: strikingly simple

How hard would it be to make an app that accurately recreates a VHS camcorder in a smartphone? That’s the question the folks at Rarevision asked themselves when they set about making the VHS Camcorder app for iPhone.

What we’ve got here is the app itself – an app that describes itself with four words: “Best. Throwback. Videos. Ever.” Rarevision also suggests that you’ll be able to “impress that girl you’re obsessed with by using our app to convince her you built a time machine.”

Apple expands self-driving experts roster, hires Tesla engineer

Apple has hired one of Tesla Motors’ senior engineers for work on its own self-driving technology — presumably as part of its Project Titan. Olloclip Active review

Design

Just like all of Olloclip’s older attachable lenses, the Active is a double-ended accessory that you slip onto your iPhone with the aid of a non-included phone case. While you don’t need the special Olloclip case in order to perfectly line up the lenses with the iPhone’s camera, the added shell helps keep the Active firmly attached to the handset.

The case itself is nice enough, a tinted polycarbonate shell that still lets you see your phone while adding a protective and grippy rubber bumper around the edge. Most of your phone will be safely encased, bear in mind there’s a large window left open around the camera lens to accommodate the Active.

Dell Venue 8 7000 review: Android tablet is thinner than the iPad Air 2 but RealSense cameras are useless

Dell is the slightly unlikely claimant to the title of world’s thinnest tablet with the Venue 8 7000. It’s also the first device we’ve seen with Intel RealSense technology.

PRICE AND COMPETITION

We’ve had to wait a fair while for Dell’s Android tablet to arrive after it was previewed at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) last September. Nevertheless, it’s finally here and more expensive than we expected.

BlackBerry’s Android-powered slider phone gets shown in motion

Make better cocktails with this LED-covered Bluetooth stick

The idea of using technology to make a better cocktail is hardly new — companies as big as Google on down to the smallest startups are trying to enable those of us with no mixing skills to make a passible Martini or Manhattan. The latest is the MixStik, an LED-covered stick you connect to your phone with Bluetooth. Once the MixStik is paired with your phone, you simply pick a cocktail recipe with the corresponding app — the stick then lights up with colors that correspond with your selected drink’s ingredients. Just drop the stick into the glass, fill it up according to the directions, and you should theoretically have your desired cocktail mixed to the correct proportions.

Samsung Ultimate Test Drive targets iPhone users

Samsung and Apple have been locked in a smartphone war since the first iPhone rolled off the assembly line years ago. Samsung has had some sales success along the way and some devices that didn’t sell as well as the smartphone maker hoped. Apple for the most part has been plugging away with the most popular smartphone in many parts of the world with its iPhone.

Samsung is now specifically targeting iPhone users with what it calls the Samsung Ultimate Test Drive. The test drive requires users to sign up from their iPhone to receive the test drive device. Samsung is only interested in iPhone users, if you use a different smartphone you can’t participate in the program.

Microsoft’s October lineup: Surface Pro 4, 2 Lumias, Band 2

While Samsung went a month early to avoid the IFA and Apple rush of September, it seems that Microsoft will go the opposite route and hold its event a bit later. Two separate sources agree that October will be Microsoft’s month as it will be revealing a new lineup of devices, including the Surface Pro 4, two new Lumia flagships, and the second Microsoft Band wearable. Given the Lumias, this might also be the time when Microsoft will finally launch, or even just unveil, Windows 10 Mobile.

Android Wear interactive watch faces enliven the whole platform

Tesla crowdsources EV charging stations through Airbnb

As environment-friendly and enticing electric cars may be, there will always be the fear of running out of juice in the middle of nowhere, which is probably worse than running out of gas considering the scarcity of EV charging stations.Tesla has tried to address that range anxiety with a network of Supercharger stations from coast to coast in the US. But that might not be enough. In order to help defray the cost of putting more Superchargers, Tesla has enlisted the help of Airbnb and its hosts to offer EV charging in their very homes.

This flip phone may have the Galaxy S6’s camera

This week Samsung has revealed the G9198 dual-screen Android flip phone, a smart device with a bland name. While smartphones with flip-screens like this aren’t all that uncommon in China, this device has something special going for it. This device has a 16-megapixel camera at its back with F1.9 lens with autofocus and LED flash. This could very well be the same camera array already present on the Galaxy S6. If only this device were prepared for launch in the United States! But alas, it’s trapped across the sea.

2016 Honda Pilot destroyed in IIHS small overlap crash test

Honda has always been a car company that is big on safety and it spends lots of time and money engineering safety into its vehicles. Honda recently had its 2016 Pilot at the IIHS testing facility for testing on the difficult to pass small overlap test. That is the test where an offset head on collision with a stationary object is simulated.

In the test, the Honda Pilot impacted a 200,000 pound barrier at 40 mph with a crash test dummy in the driver seat. That crash dummy simulates what would happen to a driver in the event of an accident. Honda has something it calls “the scrapbook” which is filled with letters and photos from Honda and Acura owners showing their demolished vehicles resulting from various accidents.

Lenovo-backed ZUK Z1 goes international in October

You may never have heard of the company ZUK before, but that’s OK. For one, it’s completely new and for another, it’s still confined to China. The latter, however, will be changing in two months, as the ZUK Z1, the company’s first smart smartphone, will be making its way to still unnamed international markets, trying to repeat elsewhere the spurt of popularity that it enjoyed in China. And with the ZUK Z1 will come Cyanogen’s second device after the OnePlus One to make its international debut as well.
