Rumor | MediaTek’s mid-range chipsets will upgrade to 5nm in 2022

MediaTek is currently believed to unveil an SoC based on an industry-leading 4 nanometer (nm) architecture in 2022. This would mean the OEM would skip the current top-end 5nm standard in the process. Now, the latest leak claims that it is destined for the Taiwanese chip-maker’s sub-premium range next year instead.

The latest rumors on MediaTek’s plans for 2022 revolve around the prospect of a potentially significant leap in its next-gen mobile flagship processor’s specs compared to the existing Dimensity 1200 SoC.
