Are the Ryzen XT Processors a Worthy Upgrade over their Non-XT Siblings?

Are the higher boost clock speeds enough?

When AMD announced the Ryzen XT series of processors last month, the initial impression was that other than the higher boost clock speeds, the Ryzen XT processors are roughly similar to their non-XT siblings. Those planning to upgrade begin to ask: what performance benefits do they get with a 100-200mhz increase in boost clock speeds?

AMD released some benchmark figures, and initial tests show an incremental improvement for Ryzen XT processors when it comes to CineBench R20 (single thread). Compared to non-XT processors, the Ryzen XT offered around 4-5% better performance, which is essential for heavy users.

The same incremental performance is seen with AAA games, where the Ryzen 9-3900XT performed slightly better than the Ryzen 9-3900X in games like Overwatch, Civilization VI, Far Cry 5, and Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
