I was surprised Acer put an RTX 3080 in the Nitro 5, but having spent time with this laptop, I’m impressed with the overall balance of performance, thermals, and noise levels this unit delivers. It’s not as fast in games and demanding loads as the higher-tier 3080 units out there, but it’s more affordable and just friendlier to use, thanks to those cooler components and exterior surfaces, and the barely audible fans. This Nitro 5 is still a budget laptop nonetheless, with the compromises you should expect in this sort of an affordable product, that’s why I’d expect the 3060 variants to still be the most competitive among the multitude of available configurations.
