The last time we tested the Prius AWD-e in 2019, it was the latest addition to Toyota’s thriving hybrid franchise—and the only car in the segment that could keep all four tires planted on snow-covered asphalt via a second motor driving the rear wheels. The 2020 model finally added Apple CarPlay as well as a new 7-inch touch screen on most trims, and made Toyota’s comprehensive Safety Connect suite of drive assists standard on all grades. A 2021 refresh sweetens the pot with Android Auto, a longer warranty, and more airbags, albeit with a slight increase in price.
