The updated 2018 BMW i8 Coupe has been officially revealed this week, ahead of the 2018 Detroit motor show.
Largely mirroring the specification of the i8 Roadster, the Coupe gets a larger 11.6kWh battery (up from 7.1kWh), and a more powerful 105kW electric motor (up 9kW).
Zero-emissions driving range is rated at 55km, with top speed in electric mode claimed at 120km/h.
Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine is unchanged, developing 170kW of power and 320Nm of torque, for a combined power output of 275kW.
BMW claims the coupe can sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds, on its way to a limited top speed of 250km/h.
Differing from the Roadster, obviously, is the hard top roof, along with the ‘Coupe’ badging on the C-pillars.
