Should I wait for the PS5 or buy a PS4 Pro today? This is a question that I hear from friends, family and coworkers and it’s something I can help you with too.

I’ll walk through what you need to know before you make the decision to buy a new console this year or wait for the PlayStation 5 release date and new features.

It’s easy to get sucked into waiting for the next big thing, like the PS5, and there are some good reasons to wait, but for most shoppers, there is not enough concrete information to wait for the PS5.

The PS4 is just over four years old and the PS4 Pro is a little over year old. The Xbox One X arrived about half a year ago, pulling ahead of the PS4 Pro in power and leaving many wondering if a 2018 PS5 release date is in the cards.
