AOC G2460VQ6 review: A solid gaming monitor bargain

Reasonable performance, AMD FreeSync support and a low price make the AOC a bargain

The 24in G2460VQ6 is one of AOC’s cheapest monitors, but it still has a solid design. Its circular stand has a smart, brushed metal effect, and the area beneath the screen is decorated with a curved red band that houses the OSD buttons. It has solid back panel and a base that doesn’t wobble as much as the Acer or Iiyama screens on test. It can tilt, but that’s it for adjustment. It also has a thick bezel, but that’s not an issue unless you want to go for a multi-monitor setup.

The AOC’s 1080p TN panel also supports AMD FreeSync and, as with the Acer and Iiyama screens, it functions at a peak refresh rate of 75Hz. That means the AOC can synchronise its refresh rate with the frame rate outputted from an AMD GPU at up to 75fps. That’s the same figure as the Acer and Iiyama panels. It’s not particularly high, but it’s fine for modest PCs and graphics cards. It works well, too – the AOC’s gaming performance was smooth and consistent on our test rig.
