Panasonic G1 Vs Panasonic G80 Comparison

Way back in 2008, Panasonic got photographers talking with the release of the Panasonic Lumix G1 – the first camera to feature the Micro Four Thirds system.

Since then, we’ve seen quite a few of these small but mighty cameras hit the shelves, including the G80 which arrived towards the end of 2016.

As it’s nearly 10 years since the release of the original Micro Four Thirds camera, David Thorpe thought it would be interesting to compare the first Micro Four Thirds camera (G1) to its descendant, the G80, to see if it has more picture power than its older brother.

David is a big fan of the G80, saying it represents the ‘heart and soul’ of the system so when he found a G1 for sale, the idea of comparing the two jumped out at him straight away.

In the video, David compares the size and weight of both cameras along with their functionality, controls, monitor quality, EVF size and overall performance.
