Volkswagen could enter Formula One in 2026 – report

Europe’s biggest car maker is contemplating entry into the pinnacle of motorsport.

The Volkswagen Group has long been rumoured to be considering a venture into Formula One, and this week one of the sport’s biggest names revealed he is working behind the scenes to make it happen.

Toto Wolff – team principal and part-owner of the successful Mercedes-AMG Formula One team – claims a meeting took place earlier this year involving representatives of both German brands, the sport’s governing body (the FIA), and F1 management.
