Qualcomm code hints at new Snapdragon Wear 5100 SoC, faster Wear OS smartwatches on the horizon

Qualcomm looks like it is preparing a new Snapdragon Wear chip to coincide with the launch of Google and Samsung’s Wear OS 3. The new chip appears to carry the Snapdragon Wear 5100 branding that would make the successor to last year’s Snapdragon Wear 4100.

Qualcomm hasn’t exactly been bending over backwards with its Snapdragon Wear-branded SoCs — certainly not in the same way that it has been focused on improving the performance of its smartphone SoCs.
