British firm confirms new name Type 131 sports car but rules out hybrid power

Lotus has announced that its all-new replacement for aging Elise, Exige and Evora will be named the Emira when it makes its world debut on July 6.

Taking its name from the Arabic for ‘commander’ or ‘leader’, until now, the all-new Emira has been developed under the Lotus 131 codename.
