New Nintendo Switch Pro console isn’t coming any time soon, says exec

There’s no Nintendo Switch Pro, Nintendo Switch 2, or New Nintendo Switch console on the horizon, it seems, after comments made by Nintendo of America Doug Bowser (via Polygon) about the future of the bestselling console.

When asked about the possibility of an upgraded Nintendo Switch console, Bowser acknowledges that improvements to the hardware – say, its rather low-res HD screen – are always being thought about and worked on, but that the current success of the Switch and Switch Lite removes any urgency to mess with Nintendo’s family of systems as of yet.

“We’re always looking at technology,” says Bowser. “And as we know, technology is constantly evolving and changing. And we’re always looking at what is coming to determine: how can it enhance and improve the gameplay experience?
