Ten years ago, the Honda Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) technology made its debut on a production motorcycle—the 2010 Honda VFR1200F. Although the genre-ambivalent VFR1200F not a great hit in the United States, we have seen the DCT technology refined as it had made its way onto a wide range of Honda motorcycles. DCT is a coveted feature on the flagship Honda Gold Wing Tour and off-road mastering Africa Twin.
In Europe, nearly half of Africa Twins are sold with DCTs, and over two-thirds of the Gold Wings are DCT-equipped. Counting all models, Honda has sold 140,000 motorcycles in Europe with a Dual Clutch Transmission.
