Is it a coupe? Is it a sedan? Does it matter? BMW’s designation of Gran Coupe for its sleeker, faster-roof, four-door models has caused arguments for years among those, including us, who reckon anything with more than two passenger apertures should be regarded as a sedan. But we suspect the etymological distinction will be of no concern to those drawn to the combination of style and practicality exemplified by the new 2020 BMW 8-series Gran Coupe.
