As its chief German and British rivals continue to electrify their luxury SUVs, Maserati has finally got around to applying V8 power in its only SUV. The Maserati Levante Trofeo and GTS might be late to the premium V8 SUV party – and they may be obscenely expensive, even by Maserati standards – but they set new benchmarks for the brand. The Trofeo is the most powerful production Maserati ever and both models bring blistering performance, a brutal engine note, acres of luxury and style, and a big dose of exclusivity. In fact, with just 60 examples coming Down Under annually from early next year, demand for the ultimate Maserati SUVs could well outstrip supply.
