Hot on the heels of E3 2015, Microsoft is raising the cap on the free Games with Gold games it dishes out each month to Xbox LiveGold subscribers. And to celebrate the fact that the promo is now on its 2nd year, Microsoft will be giving Live Gold members two new games to chew on each month. That means that starting July, Live Gold users have a total of four titles to try out for free, two on theXbox One and two on the Xbox 360.

Of course, you won’t be able to get all four in one dump. On the Xbox One, the new games arrive on the 1st and the 16th of every month, available for download for a whole month. On the Xbox 360, the status quo remains. The first game will be available from the 1st to the 15th of the month and the second is slated on the 16th until the end of the period.

To kick things off, Microsoft announced what gamers can look forward two in July. Xbox One owners will be able to get a feel for the naval battles of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Due to popular demand from AC III players, Ubisoft put those massive ship battles front and center in this installment of the franchise. A value of $29.99, this game will be available for free for Live Gold subscribers from July 1 to 31.

Taking a break from bloody warfare, Xbox One gamers will be able to get So Many Me from July 16 to August 15 for free, a $14.99 SRP value. No, this is not a Despicable Me clone. It does, however, involve clones of blobs that you have to guide through different levels, using their varying mutations and abilities. This puzzle platformer is all about thinking out of the box and looking cute.

For Xbox 360 owners, July starts off with less of a bang. Unless you happen to be hopelessly addicted to Plants vs Zombies, that is. From July 1 to 15, gamers can grab this classic piece of gaming history. Do note, though, that this is the first title only, and not the continually updated PvZ 2.

Hope springs eternal in the second half of the month, however, with Gears of War 3 available for play during that period. One of the most iconic shooters in the industry, GoW 3 puts you once again in the persona of Marcus Fenix as he and his ragtag band of super soldiers do what they do best: saving the world amidst impossible odds. Normally $19.99, Gears of War 3 will be free on the Xbox 360 for Live Gold subscribers from July 16 to 31 only.

Do note that the free price tag of the games only apply during the periods mentioned above. Microsoft also warns that different regions might have different titles available, so best to check first before getting your hopes up and scheduling a gaming binge.
