Budapest-based game studio Neocore Games is bringing a new “Warhammer 40,000” game to current-generation consoles and the Windows PC called “Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr.” The game will reportedly be a mix between an open-world game and an action role-playing game, with a huge world to explore and plenty of enemies for the players to take on in the single-player campaign.
IGN stated that the game would be out sometime in 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, while Neocore made the bold proclamation that the game’s “colossal sandbox” will offer years’ worth of content. Furthermore, beating the game’s main story won’t end the game, as Neocore promises a myriad things for players to do after beating the game’s story.
According to a report from GameSpot, the “Warhammer” universe is one reason why the game will supposedly be so immersive, as the series has practically turned into a franchise, thanks to the ever-growing mythology that keeps bringing fans back. Whether fans prefer reading the “Warhammer 40,000” books or playing the board games, its clear that the franchise is as immersive as it ever will be.
Prior to working on the latest “Warhammer” game, Neocore was most known for developing “The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing 2” and a movie tie-in game for the 2004 “King Arthur” movie. Both games have dabbled with action and RPG elements, so it will be interesting to see Neocore tackle the “Warhammer” and witness what the company brings to the beloved franchise.
“Inquisitor – Martyr” is hardly the first “Warhammer” video game, though it be the might be the first to debut on current-gen consoles. There are a number of “Warhammer” mobile games, with some being simulations of the popular board game, while others were a mix of other game genres.
“Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr” will be available sometime on 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, though an exact date has yet to be given. In the meantime, fans interested in the game can check out the teaser below and see if they find the game interesting.
