The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the newly-rebranded Galaxy Watch are on sale as of this morning. They’ve been on pre-order before now, now they’re potentially inside your local big box store. To make deciding on either of these devices easier for you, I’ve prepared a tiny little guide below with nut-shelled good and bad points on both of these new devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Watch on sale now: Hands-on Judgement

Have a peek at our full Samsung Galaxy Note 9 review if you’d like to read ALL about it. This smartphone is extremely new, but also not particularly changed from its most recent ancestor. Users can pick this device up online in at least two colors – and if they’re lucky, a third.

Galaxy Note 9 Good:

• Top-notch display
• Big battery/ battery life
• S Pen now has Bluetooth – more versatility
• It comes in Purple!
• Galaxy Note phone is still basically without competition

Galaxy Note 9 Bad:

• Size can be too much for the uninitiated
• S Pen is still pretty tiny
• Few changes from Galaxy Note 8
• Cost is prohibitive ($1k)
• Bixby button (I don’t want it)

We’ve not given the Galaxy Watch a full review just yet, but I’ve got a fine set of Galaxy Watch first impressions and and unboxing for you to look at.

Since we’ve not gotten a WHOLE lot of time to experience the Galaxy Watch to the fullest just yet, it’s not really fair that we run down the whole list of Goods and Bads. We’ll just start with a few.

Galaxy Watch Good:

• 2+ day battery life (in first trial)
• Very comfortable to wear with standard band
• Tizen has arrived (if it hadn’t already)
• The Galaxy Watch dial is high-quality and fun to use

Galaxy Watch Bad:

• Watch face details sometimes too tiny to see well
• App store/Watch face store could use a bit more curation
• It… doesn’t come in all-black?

Out right now and stuff

ABOVE you’ll see the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 on the Samsung DUO Charger. That’s two wireless charging pads in one device, made for people who own the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy Watch, both at once. It’ll also work with all sort of other Qi-standard wireless charging devices, too.
