Nowadays when almost all smartphone makers design devices looking identically there is a manufacturer trying to stand out. If you are familiar with Chinese brands, you should know Meitu, an offbeat company popular due to double-V designed smartphones.
As for today, this company has launched two new smartphones made especially for selfie-lovers. One of them is named the Meitu T8, and we have already managed to get acquainted with it. The second one is the Meitu M8. Today we are going to get a closer look at this amazing smartphone and learn what key features it comes with.
Like many other Meitu phones the M8 comes with the same hexagonal design. But there is a number of optimizations making the phone more comfortable when holding and interacting with it. The back panel comes with a 3D glass body. So the Meitu M8 not only looks aesthetically beautiful but also is great in terms of ergonomics. Thus the first selling point of this handset is the appearance.
As for the specs, the phone sports a 5.2-inch Full HD display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of built-in memory, Helio X20 processor, 3000mAh battery supporting 9V / 2A fast charge, a dedicated HiFi audio chip, and it runs MEIOS 3.6 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The hardware is good, but the selling point of the Meitu M8 still remains the camera.
It features a Sony IMX362 dual pixel self-timer camera on the front. The camera has PDAF, OIS, and uses Meitu’s 4th-gen dual imaging technology. As the company claims, this device comes with a built-in artificial intelligence system that helps take better selfies. While many smartphone are capable of detecting only age, gender, and a few facial features, the Meitu M8 can detect hair color, skin color, and a number of other features. As for the rear camera, it is a 21MP Sony IMX230 sensor with a dual-LED flash placed on the sides of the camera module.
There are a few color options you can choose from – blue, red, and white as well as a special Hello Kitty Edition, and a Sailor Moon Pretty Soldier Edition.
